New Jersey company working on several solar power projects
New Jersey energy company Public Service Enterprise Group has announced a series of new solar power projects in three states.
According to the company, it will own three industrial scale solar facilities that will be constructed and maintained by juwi solar, Inc. The projects are expected to generate about 30 megawatts of electricity in total and should be in operation by late next year.
One project will provide about 2.2 megawatts of direct current electricity to the Mars Snackfood company in Western New Jersey. Another one will generate about 15 megawatts of power on about 100 acres of land in the Jacksonville, Florida area. The third project will generate about 12 megawatts on about 80 acres of land in Wyandot, Ohio.
"We look forward to the timely completion of these projects and to the continued growth of utility-scale solar energy across North America," said Michael Martin of juwi solar.
PSEG also indicated that it will continue seeking other opportunities to enhance its solar power business across the U.S., and noted that its parent company, PSEG Global, is also building a 350 megawatt wind farm off the coast of New Jersey.
