About Us

REC Solar has installed over 38 megawatts of solar electricity in more than 5,000 homes and businesses since 1997, making it the nation's leading local solar integrator. They have built more residential and commercial solar electric systems in California, and the US, over the past four years than any other solar company in the US.

REC Solar services a total of ten regional offices located throughout California in Bakersfield, Fresno, Los Angeles, Orange County, Petaluma, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, Sunnyvale, Ventura; in addition to locations in Phoenix and Prescott, Arizona; Denver, Colorado; Kapolei, Hawaii; New Jersey; and Portland, Oregon. REC Solar is continuing its rapid expansion into other states and has the capacity to install solar systems in every location as incentives become available.

They maintain a dedicated staff of engineers, designers, and installers to make solar a turnkey solution for their customers.

REC Solar was founded in 1997 by Judy Ledford and Fred Sisson. Both are alumni of California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo as are many of the company's employees. REC Solar is one of only a few solar electric system installers in California with engineers certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. REC Solar currently has over 500 full time employees and is committed to providing sustainable jobs throughout the country.
