REC Solar has installed over 8.5 megawatts of solar electricity in 2000 homes and businesses since 1997, making it the nation's leading local solar integrator. REC Solar was founded in 1997 by Judy Ledford and Fred Sisson. Both are alumni of California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo as well as many of the company's employees. REC Solar is one of only a few solar electric installers in California with engineers certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. REC Solar currently has over 230 full time employees and is committed to providing sustainable jobs throughout the country.
