About Us
Black Platinum Electric is a fully-licensed electrical contractor, skilled in installing photovoltaic (solar-electric) systems. Family-owned and operated by John E. Black and son John A. Black, B.P.E. specializes in quality solar installations and uniquely personalized customer service, and is very proud of the long-term relationships we have developed with our clients.
B.P.E. is well versed in available State and Federal tax incentives and Utility rebates that help to significantly reduce the cost of your photovoltaic system. We can direct you where to find more information on these programs. Installing a grid-tied photovoltaic system makes you eligible for the highest utility rebates and/or renewable energy credits from your electrical utility. It also enables you to draw power from the utility at night in exchange for supplying electricity to the utility during the day, eliminating the need for batteries to store your electricity.
In addition to savings on your electric bill, you are eligible for a Federal tax credit of up to 30% of the total cost of a PV system installation.
NOTICE: On October 3, 2008, the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008, designed to address the U.S. financial crisis, was signed into law. This initiative also included the most significant federal policy ever enacted for the solar industry. Effective Jan 1, 2009, this bill will extend, for 8 years, the 30-percent tax credit for both residential and commercial solar installations. Additionally, the bill also eliminates the $2,000 cap for residential solar electric installations, creating a true 30-percent tax credit. Request a bid now to get started on reducing your carbon footprint on our planet!
